Travel Survey
by Clare Hayward - Wednesday, 16 May 2012, 05:32 PM

South Devon College is currently looking at the transport needs and travel options that are available to students and staff.  The purpose of this survey is to understand the current travel habits of students and staff and across the College both at Vantage Point and elsewhere.  The data we collect will be used to inform and update the Travel Plan for South Devon College which explores measures to improve sustainable travel choices for everyone.

If you could spare 5 minutes to fill in this short questionnaire the information will be used for our current and future transport plans.

The survey can be accessed on Moodle click here or by typing in this website address: http://tinyurl.com/SDCtravel  (you will need to login in the usual way but your responses will be anonymous.  Say “yes” if the course asks you to enrol).

You can also access the survey from within Moodle by clicking the link on the Home Page or clicking on ‘Student Services’ at the top of the screen and then click on ‘Have your say’.

Thank you.

With kind regards

Laurence Frewin
Vice Principal Corporate Services

On the Water Dartmouth 2012
by Adrian Bevin - Tuesday, 15 May 2012, 09:56 AM

This is the opportunity for you to experience the thrills and excitement of being on the water and find out more about boating by trying one of the boats we will have on the water for the two days. The event is entirely free and is open to all ages (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult). To book your place you need to come to the reception unit on the Embankment (Dartmouth), book a time slot and complete a short Safety form. All the boats are skippered by qualified or professional yachtsmen. You will be provided with lifejackets and the skipper will provide a short safety briefing before you head off. Depending on weather and tides each trip can be between 20 minutes and an hour.

There will also be information available to find out about career opportunities within the marine sector, including; Marine Engineering, Boat Building and Adventure Sports.

The event will take place on Saturday 2nd June to Sunday 3rd June at the South Embankment, Dartmouth by the Lower Ferry.
